Also, if you're new to Grand Forks, and want something that has character, most of the properties Amberwood office manages are eclectic, or have a bit of curb appeal, or great locations. You can also usually find something in a price range that works for you. Plus + you can pay online or with a smart phone app, which is great for me, as I don't really do the whole check-writing thing.

My experience with Amberwood office has been great! They have a friendly staff, and respond to issues and take pride in the updates they make. I moved in and didn't have the right mail key, and they brought it to my door that same day I called!
I rented from this company during 2009- 2010 and had nothing but bad luck. When I first arrived, I went to the rental office and met with the woman who asked me to sign the lease (prior to me even seeing the apartment). When I arrived to the apt, she did not look into anything (pipes, possible mold situation) and did not tell me anything about the place (including parking/trash/laundry). She was not pleasant or welcoming. The hallways often smelled damp and like rotted trash. The storage unit could fit 2 Rubbermaid containers (maybe) if stacked on top of another. Maintenance was very poor. Also, the location is unsafe (across the street from a very seedy motel). Trash was often on the ground outside by the parking lot. The lightning was poor outside at night. I wouldn't recommend this to a single woman, or to a family.

Stay far away from this place, they are crooks. They are running homes for the dangerously mentally ill, your future neighbor could be a violent mentally ill patient. There will be a constant flow of aides coming and going from the unit, to take care and watch these patients. You will see the police having to visit these units because of the violence occuring in the unit. You will worry for your safety and your children's safety.
