Considering I know how many transfers this place gets, but what excapes my understanding is why people actually choose to come here. I just moved to Grand Forks and quite frankly I didn't wanna drive all the way to park river to see the best doctor for just what I think is a head cold, so I came here and figured see if they are any good for the money a person spends for their services. I came into the urgent care around 2:00 pm September 10, 2016 (still awaiting a "Doctor" to come an talk to me, but getting my insurance information that's more important than the patients health) and I sat in the waiting room watching most of the so called great staff stand around with their finger up their a**. I watched as a guy walked in that had cut his hand with an electric saw, and they brought him in, got his info, and told him to just sit and wait. I'm sorry but when you have a patient that comes in with a bloody rag saying what happened get him in and CARE FOR HIM!!!!!!! Sadly, I watched as the guy paced around the waiting room later asking me if this was really the only hospital. Unfortunately I had to tell him yes and I felt terrible for having to actually tell him that. Back in July on this year I had my first baby girl here and the doctors and nurses over delivering babies and taking care of the mothers they are by far the shining stars of this whole hospital. What really sad is my girlfriend was able to tell our daughter was getting pink eye and was having some respiratory problems and we came here Immediately and one of the so called joke of a "DOCTOR" came in and said their was nothing wrong with my then 5 week old daughter well let's just say I didn't believe a word he had to say because he spend a total of 3 minutes looking at her....ya some Doctor he really is. I looked at my girlfriend and said to her I want to go somewhere else that will actually GIVE A DAMN ABOUT MY DAUGHTERS HEALTH!!!!! We took her to Dr. Johnson in park river at first care clinic at the hospital. He confirmed what my girlfriend thought was going on with our daughter. She had pink eye an her breathing sounded funny to him so he proceeded to actually examine my daughter to find out what was really wrong. Altru "URGENT CARE" is a joke an I strongly recommend that if you actually need to be looked at and CARED FOR..... DO NOT COME TO THIS OFFICE AND I REPEAT UNDER AN CIRCUMSTANCE DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU REALLY NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR YOU ARE ONLY A NUMBER TO THESE PEOPLE NOTHING MORE. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE THAT YOU ACTUALLY GET THE RIGHT DAMN ANSWERS!!!!!!!! If I hurt someone's feelings over my opinion of this hell hole.....GET OVER IT I HAVEN'T LOST MY RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH YET MIGHT AS WELL USE WHILE I CAN!!!!!!
Honestly, you expect a hospital to hold themselves accountable. My aunt who is 95 went in because she had a really bad cough and stayed there for about a week. She got better, however the day she left the hospital staff said she experienced a "controlled fall" and hit her knee on the floor. She would always use a lift at home to get into and out of bed and Altru was told this on several occasions. But of course, they had to do things their way and now my aunt has a swollen knee and had to get rushed back to the hospital the day she had come back home. It takes much longer for elderly people to heal. After living with her niece for 30 plus years, Altru made the decision to put her into a nursing home. Really, you're going to tear a family apart without consenting with her family first? I'm disappointed in these people.
I went in there for Blood Clots in my leg and lungs, everyone from from the emergency room to the ICU to the hospital took very good care of me. I can not say enough of the great care I got. Praise to God for all the great care givers there. I could use your prayers for this because it is not over yet, I go into surgery again this Monday morning.
Best hospital ever! I went here for my prenatal care and also childbirth. I couldn't be happier. My OB was Dr.Brian Wilde and every step of the way he was caring, compassionate, and listened to my concerns. Even though I had a high risk pregnancy baby was fine, and Dr. Wilde kept me happy through the whole process. He delivered my baby and the nurses and staff took such good care of me. There birthing rooms are wonderful and relaxing, the doctor who gave me an epidural did a great job at making me feel at ease. They didn't hurry me out of the hospital, they let me take my time to heal, watched my baby in the baby room with other babies, fed me the most delicious hospital food I have ever had (Room Service for me and my husband was great). I can't imagine there's a better hospital to deliver a baby. Thank you Altru for caring and making my childbirth experience wonderful every step of the way and after. I highly recommend coming here for your care!
I recently had my daughter there and I found them to be very efficient. They took not only excellent care of me, but of my daughter as well. The nurses were sweet and always asked how they could make me more comfortable or if they could get me anything. In addition, both the nurses and the doctors answered any questions that I had, no matter how simple or complex they were. They explained procedures, what was going to happen, followed my birth plan, etc. . . I would recommend having a baby there.
